WE CHOOSE EARTH
Description

Planning, construction and operation of wind and PV systems from one of the world's leading producers of wind and solar energy and provider of innovative renewable technology solutions.

Profile

EDP is a leading global producer of wind and solar energy and provider of innovative technology solutions. We have been active in the sector for more than 16 years and are present in four global  regions: Europe, North America, South America and Asia. EDP Renewables (EDPR) is a division of EDP.

Our company is broadly positioned with 19.3 GW of installed capacity in onshore wind, distributed and large-scale solar, offshore wind, and complementary technologies for the hybridization of renewable energies. We plan to invest €12 billion through 2026. In Germany, we aim to install 0.5 GW of solar energy by 2026, representing an investment of approximately €300 million. In the wind sector, we plan to achieve an annual development of approximately 100 MW by the end of the decade.

Core Business: Onshore Wind

EDPR specializes in developing, building, and operating high-quality onshore wind farms that convert wind energy into electricity. As of 2024, onshore wind is a significant contributor to our portfolio, accounting 19.3 GW (85% of total installed capacity).

Hybrid Approach

EDPR is expanding its efforts to provide sustainable energy solutions that meet customers' growing needs for balanced energy supply and grid demand. By integrating solar plants with existing wind farms, EDPR leverages pre-existing infrastructure to maximize clean energy production, addressing a key challenge in renewable development across Europe. EDPR is also a pioneer in wind-solar hybrid projects, operating them in Spain, Portugal, and Poland.

Powering the Future with Renewable PPAs

EDP is a trusted partner for corporations pursuing ambitious sustainability goals, offering long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that provide access to renewable energy. EDP has surpassed 15 GW of contracted capacity in global renewable PPAs, a significant milestone fueled by the increasing electricity demands of data centers, which account for over 20% of these agreements. This growth is highlighted by key PPA deals with major technology companies like Microsoft and Amazon.
