The Nordex Group offers high-performance wind turbines for almost all geographical regions of the world.

Profile

The Nordex Group offers high-performance wind turbines for almost all geographical regions of the world.

The development, manufacture, project management and servicing of wind turbines in the onshore segment has been the core competence of the Nordex Group and its more than 10,000 employees worldwide since 1985. The focus is on turbines in the 4 to 6 MW+ class. The comprehensive product portfolio offers customised solutions both for markets with limited space and for regions with limited grid capacities. The Nordex Group realises wind farms in various scopes:  from pure delivery (clean sell) to turnkey installation (turnkey projects). A global service network with around 230 service points in 30 countries ensures smooth operation.  In September 2017, the Nordex Group launched the N149/4.X, the first product in the current Delta4000 product series. This is based on the proven technology of the Generation Delta turbines that have been successfully installed since 2013 for locations with strong, medium and light wind speeds.

The turbines in the Delta4000 series have a variable output within the 4-, 5- and 6-MW class and can be optimally adapted to the individual specifications of the grid operator, local wind conditions, noise requirements and customer needs. The world's first installed +4MW turbine was honoured as "Turbine of the Year 2018" by the trade magazine "Windpower Monthly". Today, the Nordex Group offers the variable turbines in the 5MW+ class with the N149/5.X and the N163/5.X. With the N163/6.X, the step into the 6 MW class took place in 2021, followed by the N175/6.X in 2022, which specialises in low wind speeds and was installed for the first time in summer 2024. For Germany, a tower with a hub height of 179 metres is also on offer for this turbine.

As with the first N149/4.X, flexibility is a key factor in the design philosophy and operating strategy of the turbines. The turbines cover a wide range of power modes and optimise adaptability in regions with low and medium wind speeds. Depending on the investment criteria of the respective projects, the turbines can be operated flexibly in terms of capacity factor, rating, service life and noise requirements and thus also optimised for the customer's respective business model. The sister turbine N133/4800 for strong wind regions is the only exception and is not variable. The Nordex Group's turbines supply more than 52 GW of sustainable energy worldwide and are present in over 85% of the global energy market (excluding China).

The management holding company is headquartered in Rostock, with the Management Board and administration based in Hamburg. The Nordex Group produces its own nacelles, rotor blades and concrete towers at production facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the USA,  Mexico and India. The Nordex Group has offices and branches in more than 40 countries worldwide.
